I love how the light falls through the trees in this old forest

We leave the grand open vistas and landscapes and visit somewhere local. Nature and scenery on a smaller scale. It is good for our stress levels to visit calm places like these. When I say local, I mean local for me… 🙂 We visit a very old forest and a quaint small town, in the region where I live, in Sweden.

We find blueberries on the trail!

It is absolutely quiet in the forest, except for the sounds of some small creeks and some birds

Hey, mr. Toad, be careful and get off the humans’ trail… 🙂

My mother unknowingly features as an “extra” in this little documentary about the forest. Look how tiny she is next to the trees. 🙂

We find chanterelles a bit away from the trail! We call this the “gold of the forest”. Excellent to put in a sauce or stew!

Very old moss like this is not only beautiful, but also important for lots of little insects and the whole eco system here. Therefore, it is forbidden by law to take any moss with you from the forest, or to tear it away from where it grows.

Although we have a lot of these running free in the forests (especially in the North), they are quite hard to spot in the wild, cause they usually hide from humans. This moose is not loose. 🙂 We have stopped in a wilderness park to get close to one. As you can see, this one is not afraid of humans. He seemed quite happy to be photographed, as he came closer when I did that!  🙂

We arrive in this lovely, old little town with its pride in the middle, the old church

Lots of canals and small, tranquil rivers around town

Some duke or count used to live here, can’t remember who 🙂

Hope you enjoyed these little corners of my world where I have gone to find peace and serenity. I also hope you have a great Sunday with a lot of rest or activities that you enjoy. See you around! Love/Survived
