Welcome back to explore a bit more of this strange island in the countryside, where everything grows in “invasion style”, now in the summer!

I discovered that in this photo blog post I seem to have gone for a romantic style, in some of the photos; soft light flower photos, old buildings, meadows in afternoon sun, etc. Case in point in the first photo above. So, if you’re a romantic like me, you might like it! (Some are more “normal photos” too, of course, cause I want you to get a feeling for the island and what it’s like there).Β

From what I’ve heard from tourists who come to visit the countryside here, outside the capital in my country, they seem to appreciate the serenity, the open landscapes, the trees and plants everywhere.

This is indeed quite a peaceful corner of the world, so I hope to bring you that this Sunday – peace and serenity delivered straight to your computer! πŸ™‚

I included this picture just to remind you from the previous photo blog – do you remember I said Β things were growing out of control, on this island? Here’s another example, with a “wall” of lilac trees covering this old shed! This is not an abandoned property, this is someone’s current property, and they store things in this old shack. But I don’t know how they get in…. πŸ˜€

From the old days, where you go to get water! Most of the houses out here do have water indoors now. But some of the really old and small summer cabins, only have this to get water from!Β

I named this village by the tiny bay; “Idyllic”. Β πŸ™‚

In the “high season”, in a couple weeks, this opens up as the combined bar/restaurant of the island, and also the grocery store is on the second floor. Practical. πŸ™‚ I like the bohemian style of this place!

True or Not; According to a quote from the movie “Donnie Darko”, the word “Cellar Door”, is the most beautiful word in the English language. I can understand why, when I see this absolutely lovely and very old, cellar door here. They have put tar on its planks, which was very common in the late 1800’s and beginning of 1900’s. It makes for beautiful contrast against the Swedish “Falu red” house color, don’t you think?

A nearby island…passing it, on the boat. There are tons of these; uninhabited islands littered all over the archipelago. Some of them are amazing, the way they just stick up straight towards the sky, from the water, like the rock wall here for instance, you can’t walk up on that, cause the rock wall together with the water, form a 90 degree angle…. These formations were made during the ice age. Oh, do you see the sailboat to the right? (For a “size marker” of the island, πŸ™‚ ).
